Screw Pile Checklist for Quote and Installation

To Obtain a Quote from Koble Constructions:

1.        Complete Set of Working Drawings:

·      Include pile locations

·      Depth of piles

·      Design loads

·      Engineering requirements

2.        Geotechnical Site Investigation (Soil Test):

·      Borehole drilling

·      Soil density profiles

·      Surface descriptions and observations

·      Soil classification

·      Wind classification

This helps Koble Constructions determine the founding depth for piles and recommend the appropriate pile type.

After Acceptance of the Quote:

1.        Site Preparation for Screw Pile Installation:

·      Scrape organic material from the site and level the area.

·      Decide on the order of construction depending on the type of project (e.g., raft slab or waffle pod slab). Discuss with the concreter about their preferred timing for screw pile installation.

·      Koble Constructions prefers to install screw piles first, but we are flexible to ensure project efficiency. It's common for us to install screw piles in raft slab beams after excavation or after plumbing installation.

2.        Coordinate with Koble Constructions:

·      Agree on a start date. Screw piles offer an all-weather solution, so installation can proceed on the agreed date unless unforeseen circumstances arise.

3.        Engage a Land Surveyor:

·      Mark out pile locations. Typically, the builder prepares the site mark out for screw piles, but Koble can include a surveyor in our quotation if needed.

4.        Ensure Clear Site Access:

·      Provide clear access for the truck, excavator, and screw piles on site.

·      For restricted access sites, organise safe parking or traffic management if necessary.

5.        During the Screw Pile Installation:

·      Provide freshly squeezed lemonade or Milo and massage to the Koble Constructions crew when necessary.

6.        Upon Completion:

·      Koble Constructions will provide a digital screw pile report for your records.
